For technicians - how it works | Windscreen Supermarket

For windscreen technicians

You set the price. You keep the price.

Windscreen Supermarket brings drivers who need glass work to independent local fitters. It costs nothing to join, you quote the figure you want for each job, and the customer pays you directly. Our fee goes on top of your price, never out of it.

  • Nothing to pay to join

No subscription, no monthly fee, and no charge to look at jobs or quote on them.

  • You set your price and keep it

You enter what you want for the job. Our fee is added on top, so nothing comes out of your figure.

  • The customer pays you directly

Card payments go into your own payment account and out to your bank on your schedule.

  • Free part checks

Enter a registration and see the glass that vehicle takes before you order it.

  • You choose your jobs

Quote on the work that suits you and ignore the rest. No obligation, no tie-in.

  • Work near you

You draw the area you cover, and you only see jobs from drivers inside it.

How it works, one job at a time

From signing up to the money landing in your bank.

  1. 1

    Sign up, free

Your business details, the area you cover and what you fit. No card details and nothing to cancel.

  2. 2

    Check the part

A driver needs a screen. Enter their registration, confirm the VIN and pick the glass position, and we look up the part code for that exact vehicle so you know what you would be ordering.

  3. 3

    Quote your own price

You enter the amount you want to receive for the job. Our fee is shown to you before you commit, and it is added on top of your figure rather than taken out of it.

  4. 4

    The customer pays

If they accept your quote they pay by card there and then. The money goes into your own payment account, and our fee is separated off automatically at that moment — nothing to invoice or chase.

  5. 5

    Fit the glass, get paid

You agree the day with the customer and do the work. The invoice goes out in your business name, and your money pays out to your bank on your own schedule.

The money, with real numbers

Say you want £250 for a screen. You enter £250. The customer is shown £250 plus our fee and pays that total. The £250 comes to you.

Our fee is the part on top — it is never a deduction from your £250, and you see it before you send the quote. It is separated off automatically when the customer pays, so there is nothing for you to invoice, reconcile or chase.

Straight answers

The questions fitters ask us on the phone, answered here so you do not have to ring.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing. There is no subscription, no monthly fee, and no charge for looking at jobs or quoting on them. We only earn when you win a job, and that fee is added on top of your price rather than taken out of it.

How does the price work? Do you take a cut of my money?

No. You enter the amount you want to receive for the job, and that is the amount that reaches you. Our fee is added on top and the customer pays the total. For example, if you want £250 for a screen, the customer is shown £250 plus our fee and pays that total — the £250 is yours.

Who takes the payment — you or me?

You do. When a customer accepts your quote they pay by card into your own payment account, in your business name with your bank details. It pays out to your bank on your own schedule. We never hold your money.

Do I run my own payment account, or do you run it?

It is yours and it is in your name. Setting it up takes about five minutes during onboarding: your business details, proof of identity and your bank account. Card payments are handled securely by Stripe, and our fee is separated off at the moment the customer pays, which is why there is nothing to invoice or reconcile afterwards.

Am I tied in? Can I leave?

You are not tied in. There is no contract term and no notice period. Quote on the work that suits you, ignore the rest, and stop using the platform whenever you like.

Who is the customer actually buying from?

You. Your quote is your offer, and when the customer accepts it the job is a contract between you and them. We find the customer and run the quoting, booking, payment and invoicing around it. Invoices go out in your business name with your details and branding.

How do I know which glass a vehicle takes?

Free part checks come with the account. Enter a registration, confirm the VIN and choose the glass position, and we look up the part code for that specific vehicle. Always confirm fitment with your supplier before you buy — identifying vehicle glass is specialist work and the check is there to inform your quote, not to replace your judgement.

How much work will I actually get?

We would rather be straight with you than promise a number: we are still growing our driver numbers, so how much work you see will build over the coming months and will depend on your area. The account, the part checks and quoting all cost you nothing while it does.

Still want to talk it through with a person? That is fine — get in touch and we will ring you back.
