Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and your rights. Last updated 15 July 2026.
1. Who we are
Windscreen Supermarket ("we", "us") operates www.windscreensupermarket.co.uk, a comparison platform connecting vehicle owners with verified windscreen technicians in the UK. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and your rights over it.
2. What we collect
Quote and booking data: your name, email address, phone number, service address and postcode, vehicle registration and vehicle details, and photos of the damage you choose to upload.
Account data: login credentials (passwords are stored hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them) or your Google account email if you sign in with Google.
Usage data: pages visited, actions taken in the quote flow, device and browser information, and IP address — used for security, fraud prevention, and improving the service.
3. How we use your data
To provide the service: sharing the job details (vehicle, glass type, area, first name) with technicians so they can quote. Your full address and contact details are only shared with a technician once you accept their quote or book.
To communicate: transactional emails, SMS, and push notifications about your quotes, bookings, and appointments.
To keep the platform safe: rate limiting, abuse detection, and audit logging.
4. Legal bases
Performance of a contract (providing quotes and bookings you request), legitimate interests (platform security, service improvement), and consent where required (e.g. marketing, which you can withdraw at any time).
5. Who we share data with
Technicians you request quotes from (job details) and book with (contact details); our infrastructure providers (hosting, database, and authentication — Supabase; payments — Stripe; email delivery); and vehicle-data providers used to look up your registration. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Retention
Account and booking records are kept while your account is active and as required for legal, tax, and warranty purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us via the Contact page. You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for login sessions and platform security, and basic analytics to understand how the site is used. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version is always published on this page.
